Cyberlab Automation
Cyberlab Automation is the independent Android developer who builds the DriveSight dash cam app and publishes the guides on phonedashcam.com.
What does Cyberlab Automation build?
Cyberlab Automation publishes two apps on Google Play:
- DriveSight Dash Cam turns an Android phone into a dash cam with police, speed camera and aircraft alerts. DriveSight was first released on Google Play on March 26, 2026, and version 2.9.50 came out on November 5, 2026.
- StoneSnap identifies rocks and crystals from a photo.
What goes into DriveSight?
Most of the work on DriveSight is in the parts a hardware dash cam does not have:
- Recording with Android's CameraX library inside a foreground service, so DriveSight keeps recording while Google Maps or another app is on screen.
- Object detection on the phone itself: a YOLO26n model running on Google's LiteRT, plus a separate wildlife model. Camera frames are not sent anywhere for detection.
- GPS speed with the posted speed limit from OpenStreetMap, and alerts for community police reports, speed and Flock cameras, and police, government and military aircraft from public ADS-B flight data.
- Crash and hard-braking detection from the phone's accelerometer, which locks the clip around the impact.
How is DriveSight tested?
DriveSight updates are tested on real drives, with the app mounted in a car, before they go to Google Play. The drive logs from those tests are used to tune alerts, such as the green-light chime and the animal alert, and to find bugs, such as recordings that stopped when the screen turned off.
